The MicroFIT and FIT Program officially started on October 1, 2009.  Get paid 80.2 cents for all the solar power you produce.

You can be part of Ontario’s growing green energy movement, make money and contribute to a cleaner environment.  If you are a homeowner, you have the opportunity to develop a very small or “micro” renewable electricity generation project (10 kilowatts or less in size) on your property. Under the microFIT Program, you will be paid a guaranteed price for all the electricity your project produces for at least 20 years.  For an overview of the program, click here.

The outlook for Clean Energy stocks remains attractive. Stock valuations, especially in the wind and solar sector, reflect a very pessimistic development in government support for the coming years, creating buying opportunities.

We continue to believe that 2010 will be characterized by the unfolding of government stimulus measures, coupled with a gradual return of private capital to the industry. We are witnessing the first signs of recovery in the electricity markets, which may signal the start of a gradual – albeit slow – recovery of demand and of power prices. This should benefit both renewable electricity producers as well as energy efficiency stocks in general.
